So, a few weeks ago Zoya had a promo going on…you could pick any 3 polishes (for free*) and just pay $12 shipping. While it’s not really FREE, it was still a good deal since Zoya polishes are $9 – $10 each. I ALMOST didn’t make this purchase because I had already made a beauty purchase for that week, but on the last day of the promo my fiancee bought them for me 😀 (awww, how sweet…i’ll take polish over flowers any day! LOL)
I wanted to get some spring colors, well because I am just sick of winter! So, the 3 polishes I picked were Elodie, Zuza and Charisma.
Elodie is described as a “Bright and fresh warm melon pink creme with a touch of coral” on the website, and the online photos (and the first photo I took) show it as a salmon/coral color, but once applied it was much more of a dark orange/coral (slightly changes depending on your lighting too.) Not really what I was hoping for, but it’s still pretty. The formula is nice, somewhat thin and opaque in 2 coats. I did a little accent of Zoya Beatrix because the color was kind of boring after a couple hours! 😉
Next is Zuza– it is described as a “Deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish”, and it is slightly darker in person than what shows on the website. Still, it’s a beautiful shade with super fine silver shimmer and it has a great formula and is opaque in 1-2 coats.
Lastly is Charisma– described as a “Ultra bright neon fluorescent magenta/red-toned purple cream.” This is one of the first Zoya’s I had ever wanted, and now it is MINE…AHAHAHA! (sorry…) It has a matte finish that some reviewers said chipped easily, and I am sad to say that I found this to be true 🙁 Even with a top coat (which I added for shine in the photo on the R) it chipped within a few hours. Not typical of most Zoya’s and it makes me sad…i’ll just have to wear this on a day where I don’t have to do many “chores.” Also, it was hard to photograph. I tried taking it in natural light but it kept showing up as a pink color, so I had to use the flash which provided a more accurate color. It is such a unique eye catching shade, the closest thing I own to it is Julep Bette but it is still very different! (and Charisma is still a better and prettier formula)
Did any of you partake in this 3 free Zoya promotion? If so what colors did you get?!
If not, what colors do you like?
