Happy Friday everyone! No themed “friday” post today…i’m feeling SO uninspired. 🙁 I blame it on the massive amounts of snow we have been getting, and the fact that my bank account was hacked last night and all my money was taken…(my bank is fixing it, but its still a hassle to get a new card and having to change all of my recurring online bill payments!) So I will just be reviewing my recent Ipsy bag!
Look at all the goodies, this months bag is better than some recent ones!! Of course, every month you always get the cute bag, this months is a plain pink color, but they are always well made and durable.
So, lets get to the contents…
Tini Beauty Eyetini Eye Cordial Shadow + Base in Ambrosia. (Full Size $18) This is a cream shadow, it really stays put once you let it dry. (Which happens fast so do any blending quickly.) I’m not a big fan of the color, it looks nice on my hand but used as a lid color it makes me look like I have 2 black eyes! Maybe it would be more flattering on warmer skin tones? Pop Beauty Plump Pout in Peony Petal. Sample size 4g approx. value $7.50. (Full Size 8.5g $16) The color is like a warm pink rose shade. Being a lip product junkie, I was excited to try this. The color is very opaque, so 1 dip into the color is sufficient, it also applies really nice and is not at all sticky. It wore for about 2-3 hours on me, but at the end I noticed it started drying and flaking where my lips meet and looked very unattractive. Almost like “buildup” that I had to wipe off, thats my only complaint with this product. Use code POPPINGPOUT to receive 25% off any purchase at popbeauty.com Valid thorough 3/15
IPKN New York Moist & Firm BB Cream in Light 02. Sample size .05 oz approx. value $1.30. (Full Size 1.3 oz $35) First, I must note the colors shown on the website DO NOT even remotely match what I got. The swatch I did looks closer to medium 04 then what it’s actually supposed to be (light 02.) Needless to say I didn’t actually use this on my face because I would have just looked like an oompa loompa…The coverage seems medium and it does feel somewhat “moist.” I’m just disappointed I didn’t get to use it. Usually the samples of foundation they send are pretty spot on. No discount code available for this one.
Next I received City Color Be Matte Blush in Fresh Melon. (Full Size $2.99.) Its a matte warm toned pink with decent pigmentation and blend-ability. Once blended it looked more coral toned on my skin. I have to say it doesn’t last all day and I noticed it faded a bit after my 4 hr shift at work. But for $2.99, what can you expect. Use code 14IPSY20 to receive 20% off your entire purchase at citycolorbeauty.com Valid until 3/15
Lastly, I received Zoya polish in Dot. (Full Size $9) Dot is from their Spring 2014 Awaken collection and is described as a full coverage petal pink. I didn’t open and swatch this because I am receiving a similar color in my Glossybox that i’d rather try, so I’ll probably be saving it for a giveaway. 🙂 Use code IPSYZP4 to receive 1 FREE polish and a FREE Zoya Remove when you purchase 2 Zoya polishes at zoya.com. Valid until 3/15
Total value this month is $38.80 and because it’s only $10 a month, you always get your moneys worth with ipsy! So although I personally didn’t care for some of the shades in this months bag, I was overall happy with the selection and value.
What did you get on your bag this month? Were you happy with it?
If you aren’t signed up for ipsy yet, please use MY LINK to get on the wait list! (FYI If you share on FB that you signed up, they usually let you bypass being on the waiting list 🙂 )
Thanks so much for reading! xoxo, Kristina
