It’s only Wednesday and I’m already exhausted! I just want it to be Sat with a cold beverage in my hands…but seriously though, enough with this “work” thing, I wish people paid me to write beauty reviews! 😀
My latest Ipsy bag really has me dreaming of paradise…it was packed with lovely summery beauty items, and I was very pleased!
One of the main reasons I joined (and continue to love Ipsy) is the amount of makeup (and full size products) they include in a bag. I mean, Birchbox is great for the points and all, but if I get another packet of something or a perfume vial sample I may lose it… Ipsy started out as mainly a make-up bag subscription, but they have slowly been adding more skincare items. (Which I’m not the biggest fan of because my skin is so picky and acne prone, so I can usually never use skincare samples.) I’ll get over it….heck, it IS only $10 a month!
So here is what I received:
Be A Bombshell Lash Out Mascara:
Be a Bombshell is a brand that Ipsy (and other sub box companies often partner with) and I have been introduced to many good products from them! Their Sweet Cheeks blush is one of my top 5 favorite blushes ever!
I really like this mascara, aside from the strong scent is has (you can really only smell it when you are applying it.) It gives nice definition and length without being clumpy, flaky, smudgy or any thing else a mascara shouldn’t be. (In my opinion anyway!) Received full size- $15

Nyx Butter Gloss:
I was really excited to try NYX Butter Gloss…believe it or not I’ve never had one! I’m a big fan of their Butter Lipsticks and Chunky Dunk Hydrating Pencils, so this was on my list and it has defiantly lived up to it’s reputation!
I received the shade Apple Strudel, and Im glad Ipsy went with neutral tones on this. I love bold lips and I hardly ever buy anything “peachy” or light, but this goes on really smooth and makes my lips look so nice and glossy. It is very low on the stickiness scale too, which is huge for me. Received full size- $5

Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray:
Ok, I know this isn’t a make-up Item and although I don’t really like getting skincare items, I LOVE getting hair care items (except foil packets!) I am a big fan of beach or “salt” sprays so I’m always willing to try new brands.
The Marc Anthony (no, not J-Lo’s ex) Dream Waves Beach Spray has a yummy coconut pineapple (pina colada?) scent, but it lingers only slightly. My hair is semi straight and has some loose natural wave to it. I applied this to my damp hair and scrunched a bit then let it air dry. The photo above is with my hair about 90% dry. It makes some waves without being too crunchy. I really love the sprayer on this too, it has a fine mist so it covers a lot of hair evenly.
You can also spray this on your hair when its dry for even more texture. When I did that, it created more defined waves, but defiantly gave that heavy “salty” feel to hair. I received a sample, you can get the full size at Walgreens for around $6.99. I think I’m going to be getting some of this for when I run out of my favorite Julep Sea Salt Spray!
NickaK Shimmer Eyeliner:
This eyeliner is so pretty! I should have taken a pic of the tip, but oh well…Its a really skinny foam applicator that allows you to get a precise line. I used it as a top lid liner, but I bet to would look really great on your bottom lash line too. It really stays put once its dry, I tried rubbing my hand swatch and it didn’t go anywhere! My fiancee even commented that he liked it! 😀 I received full size, a $4.99 value.

Laneige BB Cushion:
I had never heard of this brand or product before, so I was interested in trying it. Basically its a watery BB Cream that is infused into a sponge that you use an applicator pad to apply. It was different…The coverage was medium and left a fairly dewy look that bordered on shiny. (Maybe it would be better suited for cooler months?) But for the price $34 for .5 oz I’m still hesitant to get a full size…maybe if I see it on sale/clearance. You can find it at Target.
Overall, I was very pleased and I would consider buying another one (or different shade) of pretty much everything I received in my bag this month and it was a decent value at $28!
