Good morning lovely ladies! Today is shaping up to be a gorgeous day here in NH and I’m looking forward to spending it outside with my family!
I am super excited to be participating in this “Drugstore Glam” link-up post today with some fellow beauty bloggers! Yes, most high ends brands of makeup are generally great quality, but there are TONS of drugstore brands that are such awesome staples in my make-up arsenal! Some I even like better (or equal to) high end brands!
So, I’m going to show you a bunch of my favorite products and prove that pricy is not always better!
Products Used: Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer I Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation I Physicians Formula PH Matchmaker Blush I L’oreal Infallible Eyeshadow & Maybelline Color Tattoo Shadow I Rimmel London Scandaleyes Mascara I Revlon Lacquerbalm & NYX Chunky Dunk Lippie
Yikes! Sorry for the scary no make-up pic LOL! I got this primer from a beauty swap with Michelle from Pretty in the East and I love it! Its a creamy primer, but it goes on smooth and there is no residue or “lotion-y” feel left behind. It creates a great surface for foundation! The best part..it’s only $6.99!
This is my all-time favorite foundation…I think this is my 5th bottle! 🙂 I haven’t tried many high end foundations so I don’t have much to compare it to, but it just works great for me. It looks really natural but gives nice medium to full coverage and lasts all day. It doesn’t break me out either, which is another plus! ($11.99)
This PH Matchmaker blush is super pigmented! I don’t know about all of the “adjusting to skin tone” thing, but a little goes a long way and I love the pretty pink flush it delivers! ($11.99)
Michelle also sent me these shadows! I LOVE how natural and blend-able they are. The “Bronzed Taupe” shade is just gorgeous ($8.29) and the Color Tattoo in “Barely Branded” ($6.99) can also be used as an eye primer. Both are very pigmented and should last quite a while!
I got this from the Allure Summer Beauty box that I ordered a while ago and I just opened it for this post. It has a nice formula that feels great on the lashes! It gives awesome length and definition with no flaking or smudging on me all day! ($6.99)
Revlon makes some of my favorite lip products! My favorites are probably from their Lacquerbalm line because they are so creamy, pigmented and shiny! This is Coquette and it lasts a good 4 hours on me before I need to re-apply. ($9.50)
I decided to show another lipstick that goes well with this look incase there aren’t any bold lipstick fans out there! 😉 This is Orange Splash from NYX’s new Chunky Dunk line (which I reviewed perviously HERE.) I honestly love all of the colors I’ve tried and even went out and bought 2 more! They are nicely pigmented and very hydrating. They were being carried at Ulta, but now I only see 3 shades available online and they are marked down to $1.50…but you can still get them at NYX.com for $6.
So there you have it! Drugstore products can create a pretty nice look, no? Here is this final before & after “transformation.”
Also, I rarely pay full price for make-up at the drugstore! I use CVS coupons and “Extra Bucks” rewards and they can even be combined with manufacturer coupons, sometimes you can get fantastic prices if you put in a little effort! 🙂
What are some of your favorite drugstore or budget beauty products??
