Hey everyone, I hope you all had a nice Christmas (if you celebrate it.) We certainly had a great time with all of our family, we really have so much to be thankful for. It’s the little things sometimes!
Anyway, so now that Christmas is over we jump right into the New Years Eve hoopla! Do you have any plans? We are probably just getting some shrimp cocktail (YUM!), Chinese food, some champagne and ringing in the new year in the comfort of our own home. A part of me has always wanted to be a part of the Times Square madness in New York, but as I get older I am becoming more and more content just staying at home. Before we had kids we would go to a friends house every NYE so if you are going to be celebrating the new year with others, I have a great simple yet sexy look that sparkles for your fun night out! (Click photos to enlarge.)
These 2 new holiday items from The Body Shop are the staples for my look. First of all, how ADORABLE is the limited edition Lip & Cheek Stain Doll?! The Body Shop makes non-limited edition lip & cheek stains, but I dunno, the packaging of this one was too cute for me to pass up.
Here are some swatches of the Glitter Eyeliner and the Lip & Cheek Doll. The eyeliner is a sliver glitter in a clear base. It goes on pretty evenly and stays put all night and didn’t really have any fallout. You can definitely tell its on your eyes, but for my look I put it over a black liner base to make it pop even more. Just be careful when applying, because it will get onto your eyelashes as you can see in my pics below!
The cheek stain is a lovely warm red with some gold shimmer throughout. I had to do several layers on my lips to get it to have the nice pigmentation as seen below. It starts to feel somewhat dry after 30 minutes or so but to help that I just added a clear gloss and it was good to go for the rest of the night! Also, a lot of The Body Shop’s holiday makeup is on sale, so get it while you can!
Other products I used:
- Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 110 mixed with It Cosmetics CC+ in medium
- Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara
- Elizabeth Mott You’re So Fine eyeliner
- Ofra Universal Eyebrow pencil
What do you think of this simple, sparkling New Years Eve makeup look?
Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day! xoxo- Kristina
