In the world of makeup, sometimes it requires an arsenal of carefully selected products to achieve that perfect look. However, Paula Dorf has set out to change that with the Perfect Color Stick! I know I love a product that can multi-task (who doesn’t?) but sometimes things like that can seem too good to be true and usually fall flat of expectations. Let’s see if this “perfect color” stick can pass the test…
“Paula Dorf is famous for unique “trick” products that offer solutions to every woman’s makeup concerns, such as Transformer® (from eye shadow to liquid liner), Perfect Illusion® for lips (ends feathering lips), Perfect Illusion® for eyes (smoothes skin), Perfect Primer® (keeps foundation fresh), Enhancer® baby eyes (brightens eyes) and Clean-Up Stick® (erases makeup mistakes).”
The Paula Dorf Perfect Color Stick is designed for use on cheeks, lips and eyes. Depending on which color you pick it can be used as a highlighter, blush, contour or shadow. It’s a convenient product for on-the-go and always gives a luminous finish. Available in 5 shades…
I received the color Ecstasy, a medium cool toned pink with subtle shimmer. Initially, I was very hesitant because I had tried other “multi-use” sticks before and didn’t care for them at all. (This one was better.) The formula is mainly on the dry side, but it is still very pigmented. You get a good amount of product, the stick goes down the whole length of the top tube part. (It ends where the cap clicks on…)
I first tried it on my cheeks by taking a stiff blush brush and swirling it on the top of the stick, then I dabbed it on my cheeks and blended it out. I really love this color pink on my skin tone, I think it gives a youthful fresh look. I was surprised at how long the color lasted. I put it on at about 2 pm and it was still going strong at midnight when I took it off.
Next, I used it on my lips. At first, I tried applying it by rubbing it onto my finger then applying it onto my lips, but the color wasn’t transferring very well. So I ended up applying it straight to my lips from the tube. Much better. It does feel a little dry on the lips, but not uncomfortable or anything. I think the shimmer helps make it look less dry than it feels. This lasted me about 6 hrs and I only had to touch it up slightly after eating dinner.
Well, color me impressed. I really liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I can definitely see myself using this all the time. It is also available in the color Sensuous, which looks like it could be a great shade for the Marsala color of the year. The sticks are .30 oz and retail for $32 but are currently on sale for $27.52. (What an odd price!) Note: If you purchase Ecstasy, you will receive a free mini No Color Glimmer, a gorgeously soft, lightweight powder to complete your look! USE CODE: ECSTASY at checkout.
