Good morning everyone! Before I get to the review I’m going to share a little story! 🙂 So, we almost bought a puppy the other day… I was looking online for Golden Retriever puppies and happened across a local site that just had puppies available the day before. I emailed the guy and he asked if we wanted to meet the puppies the next day. It was all happening kind of fast, but we were excited. However, I did some digging and I didn’t like what I was finding…it all seemed kind of sketchy. Plus, he was asking a considerably larger amount of money than we were expecting to pay. In the end, I felt he wasn’t the honest breeder (actually, he wasn’t even the breeder) we were looking for so I cancelled the appointment. We felt a little deflated, but at least we have more time to find a verified breeder and prepare for the puppy. To be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to potty training a puppy in this 10° weather anyway!
Anyway, while doing my weekly beauty drugstore thrifty haul at CVS (I had a TON of extra bucks/coupons last week!) I noticed that Revlon had some new Transforming Effects top coats out, and they looked pretty damn cool! I also wanted to pick up Sultry (one of their new polish shades) ever since I saw the pic Kelly from Vampy Varnish posted of it.
Sultry is a medium cobalt blue with pink shimmer (pink!!) The formula is thin, but 2 coats gives good coverage. It has such a beautiful finish.
Gold Glaze Top Coat:
This Gold Glaze top coat gives a thin veil of gold sheen. The formula is thin and it seems to migrate away from the tips of my nails for some reason. I only used 1 coat, so maybe 2 would work better. This would add a glam look to any mani and I want to try it over black polish!
Holographic Pearls Top Coat:
Um, yah. Holographic Pearls is insanely gorgeous and such a great idea! Now you can give any of your polishes that amazing holographic look. I only used 1 coat! It is so sparkly in the sunlight and the photo doesn’t really do it any justice, so I made a little video:
I think Revlon always has great polish and some of their newly released shades are really pretty! Also, these new Transforming Effects top coats are awesome, there are a couple others I want to try now like Nude Graffiti, Cosmic Flakies and the Matte Pearl Glaze. Revlon polish retails for around $5.99 and you can find them at drugstores and Ulta.
