Hey folks! I wanted to do a quick review of the Ulta Exclusive Zoya Satin Lips & Tips set ($24 value) that I got FREE with the purchase of any 2 Zoya shades just in case it is still available and you were thinking about getting it. Zoya posted this promo on their FB page and since I love their Matte Velvet lipstick so much, I knew I couldn’t pass this deal up! (Plus, I do love the finish of their Satin polishes too.) So I called my local Ulta and they said they had plenty of the free sets, but I went that day because I didn’t want to take any chances. haha!
I don’t know about other Ulta stores, but mine doesn’t have the largest selection of Zoya shades. Although, I did notice they had a nice display of the new Naturel Satins available! 🙂 There was a selection of maybe 20 different shades and I ended up choosing Wendy and Tinsley. The polishes are $9 each but don’t forget, you can use the $3.50 off any purchase of $10 coupon on Zoya, so I ended up paying $14.50.
Zoya Satin Lips & Tips Set:
As of right now this set is an Ulta exclusive. EDIT: You can now get Mackenzie on Zoya.com and if you can even get it FREE with a $25 order, plus free shipping. Just use code: LIPPY at checkout! (As of right now, the Satin Top coat is still not available on Zoya.com.) They are both full size and this lipstick case looks a little cheaper than the one that held their Matte Velvet lipstick in my opinion.
Mackenzie Satin Lipstick:
Mackenzie is a creamy berry wine shade with a satin finish. (In between glossy and matte.) It’s very pigmented, glides on like butter and has a pleasing light vanilla fragrance. Longevity wise, it didn’t last as long as the Matte Velvet, but it was far more comfortable to wear for the 4 hours it lasted me. I think this is an easy berry to wear because its not so bold and has those wine undertones. Very pretty!
Wendy & Wendy with Satin Top Coat:
As soon as I saw Wendy, I knew it was going to be one of my color choices. She is the perfect pink/coral shade for the long awaited summer season! Wendy was part of the Summer 2014 Tickled & Bubbly Collection.
Then I applied the Satin Top Coat and it did fairly well. Same deal here, the finish is in-between a gloss and a matte, it gives a smooth airbrushed looking result which I love. For some reason, it seemed to give the best “satin” finish on my pointer finger, the other ones still looked more on the glossy side, even after a second coat.
Oh, the gorgeousness… This is definitely more of a autumn shade, but I don’t care! Tinsley is described a rose gold metallic foil polish and it’s from the 2013 Irresistible Collection. In my opinion, it looks much less pink than Zoya shows online and much more of an orangey/rose gold, which is still stunning! It’s a thin formula and I used 3 thin coats. Also, these foil shimmers make a total mess when you remove them, so beware!
I am very happy with my purchases and that free set is such a generous GWP (gift with purchase)…thanks Zoya! Also, their lipsticks have been pretty damn great so far, I hope they keep making them…perhaps a coral or a pink next time? 😉
Is this gift something you would be interested in getting? Do you like the Satin finish?
