I have to admit, these Milani Fierce Foil Lipglosses caught my eye as soon as I saw them on social media. They just looked SO sparkly and I really liked the colors they were offering. Milani has seriously just been foiling everything lately from eyeshadow to nail polish and now lipgloss! There are 6 shades in this shimmering lineup and they are all named after “Italy’s Starriest Cities”. I only have 3 shades to show you, but I wanted to buy them all.
These glosses are solidly opaque and pretty much cover in a swipe or 2. I really thought they were going to be more sheer. They are so pigmented and shimmery it looks like jewels on your lips! Alas, as pretty as these are, they do come with some drawbacks. Firstly, they have a super strong “vanilla frosting” scent. This is more of a personal dislike, but it is so sickly sweet. Luckily it fades after you apply it, but I would prefer little to no scent at all.
Secondly, these are so shimmery because they are packed with glitter. They are comfortable to wear at first and non-sticky, but after a few hours they start to get gritty feeling and I have to wipe it off and re-apply. Also, the glitter does migrate a little bit when I wipe them off. The applicator is a flat style and holds a decent amount of gloss so you only have to dip it once.
Rome is a light pinkish nude with gold glitter. This is surprisingly one of my favorites!
Sardinia is a medium orange/coral with gold glitter. This is an easy coral to wear and I had to have it for summer.
Capri is a medium mauve/purple with silver glitter. I was debating between this and Florence but in the end I wanted something lighter for spring.
Although these do get a bit uncomfortable to wear after a few hours, I just love they way they look so much and I won’t be deterred from wearing them. These glosses retail starting at $4.99 (Mine were $5.79 ea. but of course I used ExtraBucks) and they can be found at CVS.
Are these glosses something you’d try, or does the glitter aspect turn you off?
