Hi there everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend! I wasn’t feeling well after a little medical procedure I had on Friday, so I took the end of the week and weekend off from the blog. I feel a little better today though thank goodness! I had previously tried Revlon’s Ultra HD Lip Lacquer and I loved it. Well, with all the blogger buzz surrounding these new Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick, I knew I had to try some of those as well because I tend to favor lipsticks more.
These Ultra HD Lipsticks are designed to give “true color clarity, without the heavy feel.” They have a wax-free gel technology and are available in 20 shades. I had a bit of trouble picking colors, but I knew I was going to try Tulip since my blogger buddy Christine from Simply Stine loves it so much.
These lipsticks come in a plastic silver tube with a clear plastic cap. The cap is very snugly fit so it is somewhat hard to get it off and you can easily ding the buttery soft lipstick if you’re not careful. Some of the shades are creams and some are shimmers (which I didn’t even realize until I got home.) The shimmers are pretty fine though so it’s not really an issue, unless you don’t like shimmer finishes at all…
I have to say, the lipsticks are very creamy and buttery and they feel very nice on the lips. Despite being a buttery formula they also last quite a long time, even in between light snacking. However, one thing I don’t care for is the scent. They have a rather strong fruity/floral scent that seems to linger. Also, if you live in a hot climate I would try to keep them somewhere cool, I can easily see them melting into pretty puddles.
Tulip is a light orange coral creme. This kind of washed out my fair skin, but it might look better when I get some summer color.
Azalea is a cool medium pink with shimmer.
Poppy is a warm red/orange creme. I don’t have many warm reds so I wanted to get one for the warm weather months.
Hydrangea is a gorgeous coral with shimmer. This is a perfect summer color, I love it!
Overall, I was very pleased with the pigmentation, texture and wear time of the Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick. Like I said, I just don’t personally care for the scent. They retail for about $10.50, but you know I always use my CVS Extrabucks to get a better deal!
Have you tried any Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick yet? Which shade is your fave?
