I don’t own many Stila products (although I’d like to), but when I saw this cute trio of convertible cheek/lip colors, I knew I had to grab one! The Blooming Bright trio is the spring time version, but Ulta also carries a Beauty in Bloom trio that contains more fall inspired hues. I kind of want to get that one now as well, before they are gone for good.
Stila Blooming Bright Convertible Color Trio:
The trio has mini’s of their ever popular Convertible Colors. Each comes in a cute folding plastic case with a mirror inside. The blooming bright set is a warm trio of floral inspired hues. (Lillium, Petunia, and Hibiscus.) They are all extremely pigmented and you really only need the tiniest amount for both cheeks. I still need to work on my heavy handed application…
Incase you haven’t heard of Stila’s Convertible Colors, they are a creamy stain that can be used on cheeks and lips. They can feel a bit on the lips so using a balm on top/underneath will help, but they are really pretty on the lips! When applying to my cheeks I use a firm blush brush and dab the color where I want, then you have to blend fairly quickly before it sets. Sometimes, if I use too much (which is most of the time) I have to sheer it out and blend the edges with my foundation brush.
Lillium– is a peachy pink shade. This is the lightest of the bunch but it gives a soft look to cheeks. I haven’t tried this on my lips yet because it doesn’t seem like it would be all that appealing against my skin tone.
Petunia– is described as a coral peach…ummm, no. This is much more of a bright medium toned pink. Its very pretty but it’s just not a coral peach! This color looks great on lips and cheeks.
Hibiscus– is a coral red. This shade is gorgeous and really great for summer! I am not sure if this was limited edition for this set, but I can’t find it on the Stila website…
I am wearing Petunia on my cheeks and Hibiscus on my lips. I applied it to my lips by dabbing with my finger which works well if you want a lighter stain/color. They can also be applied with a lip brush for a more bold/full coverage lip look. I really love this trio and although they are minis, they should still last me quite a long time because they are insanely pigmented.
These minis are .07 oz (about half the size of a full size Convertible Color) but they are worth about $6.50 each, making this $20 set a better value then if you were to buy 1 single full size color! Personally, I would rather have the variety. Currently I can only find these trios at Ulta and on Beauty.com. (PS I got mine in store, but they only had a few left that were displayed up by the checkout.)
What do you think of this trio? Have you tried Stila’s Convertible Colors before?
