About a month ago these samples were sent out to a bunch of bloggers, so you may have seen a few reviews floating around. Well, my post is incredibly late because after filling out a form Covergirl sent me I never received them, so I contacted them and they were so good about getting them sent out ASAP. So, thank you to Covergirl for providing these products!
Both of these products are new and have been getting mixed reviews around the blog-o-sphere, so I’m going to tell you what I think of them and if there are pros and cons to each…
From Covergirl: “The Super Sizer by LashBlast Mascara gives you 400% more corner-to-corner volume for full, fanned out lashes. Our amazing Lash Styler transforms even small lashes— just twirl as you apply it to your lashes for an instantly Super Sized lash look.”
As you can see the wand is pretty slim with short synthetic bristles and it tapers down towards the end. The instructions say to twirl it as you apply it, but I just applied it like I normally do, trying to use the longest bristles to get a more separated look. The mascara itself is somewhat wet, but I think it applied nicely and it didn’t flake, clump or smudge.
I used one coat in this photo. I think it gives a nice defined, lengthened look without being too spidery. This mascara retails for $7.49 at Ulta.
From Covergirl: “Get the control of a pencil with the intensity of a liquid eyeliner for beautifully defined eyes every time. Our all-new paddle-shaped tip gives you two looks in one—thick and dramatic or thin and elegant. The intense black formula glides on smoothly and dries quickly for instant drama.”
This liner is pretty cool! The uniquely shaped paddle wand makes it easy to get 2 looks with one product. It does take some getting used to holding it at the right angle for the look you want, but once you get control it is fairly easy to apply. The color is super black, which I love, and once it dried (about a minute) it didn’t budge or smudge all day.
I have hooded eyes and somewhat “baggy” eye skin, so it is nearly impossible for me to do a typical cat eye. So, here is the standard liner look I do that I don’t extend all the way to the end. I used the skinny side the inner part of my eyes and the thicker side for the middle and outside. The liner retails for $8.99 at Walgreens.
What do you think of these new Covergirl products? Are you interested in trying either of them?
