After getting my Julep Maven box this month, I realized I may have come across a possible dupe for the cult favorite original formula Sally Hansen Pacific Blue.
Sometime last year Sally Hansen changed all the formulas on their Extreme Wear collection and lot of the new formulas were drastically different than the originals…and not in a good way. Most nail bloggers were mainly upset about Pacific Blue and Yellow Mellow, both of which were gorgeous colors and almost 1 coat coverage.
So here is a side by side of Julep Isabela from their June Maven collection and the original Sally Hansen Pacific Blue:
So it is pretty close. I use 1 coat of Pacific Blue and 2 coats of Julep Isabela.
Isabela is slightly lighter, but other than that it is pretty spot on. The formula is good and almost a 1 coater, but I just used 2 to see if it would become slightly darker to match Pacific Blue.
You can kind of tell the difference when you are wearing them side by side like this, but if you just had on Isabela, it might be harder to see a difference.
Personally, I think that if you are pining for the original Pacific Blue and you can’t find it anywhere, you might be able to find solace in Julep’s new Isabela nail polish…
What do you think? Does Isabela pass for a Sally Hansen Pacific Blue Dupe?
