Sooo this post is kind of by accident because I was planning on skipping my Maven Box this month, but I totally spaced it. LUCKILY the box had things that I need and the one polish color I did want if I took a box. 🙂
This month Julep launched a cuticle cream, a nail brightening treatment, a hydrating oil body cleanser, a jumbo size Konjac sponge for your body, and another new Jelly polish shade.
Poppy is described as a chili pepper jelly. It’s a sheer bright warm orange red and it’s so pretty. However, I did have issues with bubbling the 2 times I tried it. You can’t really see them in the photo, but they were there. My photo above shows 3 thin coats.
I wanted to try a jelly sandwich with my all time favorite Julep glitter: Jane.
Here is 1 coat of Jane, a gorgeous rose gold/copper glitter named after the founder herself! (I ended up adding a second coat of Jane on my ring and pinky finger after taking the photo because they were looking a little sparse.)
I then added another coat of Poppy and a top coat. The result is a breathtaking warm shimmering glow. It reminds me of glowing embers in a fire (or Dorothy’s ruby slippers)…SO pretty!
Your Cuticles Look Thirsty…
I also received the new cuticle cream, with the cutest name! I was really excited to get this because I have been in need of a cream… oils don’t seem to do much for me. Plus the claim that it sinks in fast had me eager to give it a test run!
It is “A super-charged mixture of honey, shea butter, vitamin B5, and salicylic acid that hydrates and heals dry, damaged cuticles.” – Julep.com
It does have quite a strong floral scent, but I think it’s something I can get past because this stuff is awesome! It DOES soak in fairly quickly, but my cuticles and surrounding skin are left feeling soft and hydrated. I love using this after a manicure and the tiniest bit goes a long way, so I can see this .5 oz jar lasting quite a while. Julep makes awesome nail treatments… the Vanish Cuticle Remover and Cuticle Serum are also some of my favorites!
In my July box I also received the new Oxygen Brightening Nail Treatment. It is a clear coat nail treatment that is “infused with optical brighteners that hide discoloration, plus lemon extract that, over time, makes your whites whiter and your pinks pinker. Meanwhile, Oxygen Technology delivers oxygen to your nail beds, encouraging strong, healthy growth.” – Julep.com
It does give a cool looking brighting effect, but I did notice that it peels and chips very easily as some other reviews have stated. I haven’t used it long enough to comment on the long term effects of the treatment…
Even though I was going to skip this month, I am happy with what I received, especially the cuticle cream which has been a great addition to my nail care routine!
