We made it to Friday y’all! I know I normally don’t say things like y’all, but I am excited and I’m getting geared up for the Zac Brown concert we are going to at Fenway Park tonight! It’s a mostly outdoor venue and the weather is looking gorgeous, so it should be a great night! (Look out for some pics on my Instagram!) 🙂
Anyway, before we head down I wanted to get this post up and show you all some of the gorgeousness from the new Laura Geller Baked Gelato collections. These were a little pricy, so while I did want more than one blush shade I had to keep my budget in check and choose the one I like the best, which happened to be Plumberry. To go with it, I also picked up the Gilded Honey Illuminator. $26 each
First of all, the detailed pattern on these is almost good enough to eat…or at least look at for extended periods of time…I love that the design is a fairly good depth, so you don’t loose the nice pattern right away (they claim it lasts all the way until the end!) Best of all, these Gelato’s have zero calories! 😀
Both of these products are extremely pigmented, so you need a very light hand, more so with the blush than the illuminator. I went a bit over board with the blush the first time and let’s just say it wasn’t the best look. I ended up using a big fluffy blush brush dabbed it slightly, then blew off some of the excess. I had better and more natural looking results doing it that way.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Plumberry Blush:
The Gelato Blushes have “an innovative hybrid texture which applies like a powder, yet feels like a cream.” from laurageller.com. Although in my opinion, it pretty much just feels like a powder all around.
Plumberry is a deep berry/pink with a hint of sheen. My swatch is very heavy, and even when I blended it out it was a bit vibrant. However, with a light hand this gives a beautiful, natural looking flush and it lasted me a full 8+ hrs. This is also available in 4 other shades.
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Gilded Honey Swirl Illuminator:
The highlighter comes in 2 shades: Ballerina (a rose gold) and Gilded Honey (a warm true gold.) My swatch is very heavy because I just wanted to show you the tone and color when applied to skin, but this highlighter is pretty sheer when applied with a brush and can be applied all over the face for a “lit from within” glow, or more strategically placed and layered for a “strobe” effect. I also used it wet for an eyelid/corner lid color and it is STUNNING!
Like I said, I went pretty light in my application of the highlighter on my cheeks so you can’t really see it in the photo, but you can see a bit of it on my eyes.
I really can’t wait to use these some more and I think they are the perfect colors for the upcoming fall season!
What do you think of these Laura Geller Gelato treats? Have you any interest in trying them?
