As of recent, we’ve been having fairly decent weather here in NH. The snow is actually starting to melt, and it’s definitely got me thinking spring! At my recent trip to the drugstore I bought some new polishes from different brands and they all have a springtime vibe to them. The claim is that the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish provides 14 days of no chip wear, but many folks report much less wear time than that (I’m talking 2 days or so.) I don’t use the coordinating gel base and top coat with them, so I can’t personally attest to the longevity but 14 days does seem like a bit of a stretch to me.
The first one on the display that caught my eye was Let’s Get Digital, a very sheer pale blue with pink & purple shimmer. In fact, this one is SO sheer that I think it’s best used as a top coat. I used 1 coat of Let’s Get Digital over 2 coats of Julep’s Jeanne, which is a pale blue cream. It has a very Cinderella-esque feel to it, don’t you think?
Next up is Mötley Hue (I actually bought this because of the name 😛 ) which is a deep eggplant purple cream. This one is kind of on the sheer side, so I used 3 thin coats to get maximum opacity.
Then, just for fun, I added 1 coat of Let’s Get Digital on top of Mötley Hue and the result is LOOOVVE! I actually think I may like it better over this color than the blue, and I’m looking forward to trying it over other shades as well!
Like I said, I can’t personally attest to the 14 hr wear time claim (most polish doesn’t make it past day 2 on me), but the blue actually lasted all night at work with no chips which is pretty impressive. I am happy with the shades I picked up, and stay tuned for some new Revlon shades coming soon too! Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish retails for about $9.99.
Have you seen the new shades at a drugstore near you?
