I’ve got more spring polish pretties to share with you today! This time, I have the OPI Soft Shades | Pastels Collection and if you are a lover of classy cremes, then you need to stick around. Honestly, even with all of the gorgeous finishes out there today, a good ole cream polish always gets my heart pumping. At first glance, the colors in this collection didn’t really make me swoon, but once I wore the polishes (and got a few compliments) I was starting to become pretty smitten with these understated shades.
So as you can see, the OPI Soft Shades Pastels Collection is well, soft and pastel-y… These shades are great for anytime wear, but they are also SO office appropriate, so if your workplace has regulations against bold colors (gasp!) I’m sure they would approve of these. Heck, you might even get a raise for looking so put together and polished. I can see these colors also being great for spring weddings, the bridesmaids gotta paint those nails to match their dresses, right?
OPI SOFT SHADES PASTELS 2016
Most of these shades actually have a decent formula for pastels, which tend to be thin and streaky. I did need to use 3 coats with a couple of them, but the rest only required 2.
IT’S IN THE CLOUD
It’s In The Cloud is a creamy, ivory white. This one required 3 coats and still had some slight streaking going on, but you could only really notice it close up.
THIS COST ME A MINT
This Cost Me A Mint is cool, pale green. This was 2 coats.
I AM WHAT I AMETHYST
I Am What I Amethyst is a muted lilac with blue undertones. This was also 2 coats.
ONE CHIC CHICK
One Chic Chick is a soft buttercream yellow. I used 2 coats.
STOP IT I’M BLUSHING!
Stop It I’m Blushing! is a pale peachy pink. I needed 3 coats for this one.
IT’S A BOY!
It’s A Boy! is a classic pale baby blue. This is 2 coats.
This collection actually pleased me much more than I anticipated it would. I still love my bright/bold colors, but there is something about these soft shades that is invigorating, kind of like the renewing sensation of spring time. My favorite shades would have to be I Am What I Amethyst, This Cost Me A Mint, and One Chic Chick. These retail for $10 each and you can find them at Ulta, Sally Beauty and other local salons.
Which, if any, of these colors catch your eye?
