Good Monday morning everyone…wait, is there really such a thing? haha! How have you all been? I’ve been taking it real easy on the whole blogging thing and I have enjoyed it, but I do want to get back into a good groove at least when school summer vacation starts! Anyway, I have a fairly simple skincare routine because frequently changing it and adding new things usually makes my breakouts flare up. However, one area that I have been seriously lacking in is the eye area, and let me say it has become increasingly more noticeable lately especially since I haven’t been sleeping that well. Let’s face it, since I can’t wear sunglasses in every social situation to cover up my problem areas, I have been religious about using this new StriVectin Intensive Eye Concentrate that I was sent and I’m ready to share my thoughts on it.
I know this may sound crazy but I just started wearing sunglasses about 2 weeks ago! I had just never found a pair that looked good on me (probably because I was buying from the cheapie racks) but I knew it was leading to me getting deeper lines (from squinting) around my eye area and forehead. Luckily, I found a great pair that my mother in law treated me to and wearing them paired with using this eye cream twice a day has made a fantastic improvement in the depth of my wrinkles.
Here are some of the main ingredients and the purpose they provide:
- Marine Microorganism Extract helps boost the skin’s natural collagen
- Encapsulated Caffeine Compound delivers caffeine deeper and more efficiently to visibly reduce under eye puffiness
- Optical diffusers reflect light to help brighten dark shadows while improving makeup application and wear
I have been using this eye cream morning and night for about 3 weeks now, which is something I am usually terrible at remembering to do. A little goes a long way, the amount pictured above would be more than enough to do my eye area and forehead wrinkles. Yes, I’ve been using this on my forehead too because those wrinkles are becoming more pronounced as well. The cream is very rich and easy to spread, yet it soaks in incredibly fast making it the perfect choice to wear under makeup.
Speaking of which, my makeup tends to settle into the lines under my eyes and on my forehead, but when I use this it doesn’t happen or is much less noticeable and my makeup looks fresh all day long. Lately my whole eye area has been looking a lot more healthy, kind of like its refreshed with a bit more volume and less sunken. (Also, I’ve been drinking more water which helps with those issues too!)
Here are some consumer perception test results after 4 weeks of use:
- 96% reported that their eyes looked more awake
- 93% said the look of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes were reduced
- 90% reported that their eyes looked wider and eyelids looked less droopy
Overall I am super pleased with my results and the benefits it gives me. I can say with ease, that this is the first eye cream I have truly loved in a LONG time! It retails for $69 for 1 oz, which I think is a decent price for an eye cream. I think this tube should last me at least 6 months!
Do you use anything to treat your eye area, or do you skip that part of the routine?
