Being a beauty blogger who does a fair amount of nail polish posts, I pretty much always have nail polish on my nails (which ends up causing damage.) I am constantly struggling to get my nails to grow. I’ve tried a ton of special base coats, vitamins, and oils but literally nothing has helped. My nails always break and I never get them past “nub” status. However, about 3 weeks ago I picked up the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7 in 1 Nail Treatment during my usual CVS shopping trip and it has seriously changed my life. The price gave me a little bit of sticker shock, but let me tell you it is completely worth it.
This all in one product can be used as a Base Coat, Top Coat, Growth Treatment, Strengthener, Ridge-Filler, Brightener, and Ultra-Moisturizing treatment. In just 3 days of use, I saw that my nails were less brittle and they were visibly healthier looking! The exclusively patented formula is made with Avocado Oil, Sea Salt, Pomegranate Extract, and Calcium which helps to fill ridges and combat nail staining.
After using this as a base coat, top coat and protective coat for 3 weeks, my nails are finally growing and I haven’t had a single nail break. My new stronger & longer nails inspired me to create a fun and SUPER easy summer manicure using some of my favorite Sally Hansen products.
Easy Summer Dry Brush Manicure
Start with a base coat of the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7 in 1, then apply your favorite Sally Hansen color as your bottom coat and let it dry. I chose Xtreme Wear Green With Envy.
Next, choose the color (or colors) you want to use for the dry brush technique. I chose Xtreme Wear in Coral Reef. To achieve the dry brush look, take your color and wipe off almost all of the excess polish from the brush. Then, lightly drag the brush in random spots down each nail, repeating the wiping process for each one. Tip: If you happen to apply too much of the dry brush color (like I did on my pointer fingernail) you can go back in with some of the base color to correct it once it’s dry.
Once you are done dry brushing all of your nails, apply a final top coat of the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7 in 1.
Lastly, I like to complete my manicures with the salon & dermatologist tested Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil. Vitamin E is an intense moisturizer that softens cuticles and cares for dry, brittle nails (hello!) This cuticle oil is made up of a Natural Essential Oil Complex that consists of Vitamin E, Wheat Germ, Apricot Kernel, Aloe, and Panthenol which helps condition cuticles while increasing nail flexibility. I also love using this oil on my bare nails before bed. I simply drag the brush across all of my nails, then massage in the oil to help increase circulation and stimulate new nail growth, which is something I desperately need. Tip: Always be sure to remove the oil with nail polish remover before doing a manicure to prevent the polish from bubbling or peeling, and re-apply when your mani is dry!
I love the color combo of this simple mani, it’s very watermelon-esque don’t you think? As long as they keep making the Sally Hansen Complete Care 7 in 1 Nail Treatment, I will keep using it. I have already recommended it to a few friends who have trouble growing their nails. Honest to god, I have never been so impressed with a nail treatment product and I am incredibly happy with my results! Also, this was my first attempt at a dry brush technique and I think it’s is the perfect “nail art” for a novice like myself.
If your nails are brittle and prone to breakage, I URGE you to try this new Complete Care 7 in 1 Nail Treatment!!
