Greetings beauty friends! If you follow me on social media, you may know that I got my hair cut into a “bob” a few weeks ago. My hair is thin and fine, so growing it much past my shoulders isn’t really an option. Since I’ve cut my hair, I’ve been struggling with ways to style it. In general I am pretty lazy, and a novice in the hair department. Usually, I only end up doing my hair to the point where I don’t look like I just rolled out of bed. #hairgoals anyone? So, when I partnered up with Sally Beauty, I thought it would be a great idea to come up with some easy hairstyle ideas that you can do in a cinch!
This duo right here has been a lifesaver for my parched summer hair. Even though my hair is thin, it gets damaged from coloring, heat styling, chlorine and sun exposure. I have been using the Ion Summer Sun Shampoo every time I wash my hair (which is everyday or every other day) and the Deep Conditioning Treatment 2 times a week. Together they make my hair SO silky and easy to manage, plus they smell amazing. I try to only use the deep conditioning treatment on my mid-shaft to ends, because it can end up weighing my hair down a little bit if I put it all over.
Since my hair is fine it is especially prone to breakage and heat damage. Thats why I always have to start any style with a heat protectant product like this Turn Up The Heat spray from BTZ. I really like this one because you can use it on wet or dry hair and it smells like a tropical haven! I only need a tiny bit, so this bottle should last me forever.
While I was at Sally Beauty, I also picked up this awesome new hair dryer from Hot Shot Tools! Considering my other hair dryer was about 10 years old (not even kidding) this was a very welcome addition to my hair arsenal. It has an adjustable ion setting and comes with 3 attachment tools, which is something I was specifically looking for. I start my first style by blowdrying my hair straight with a little flip under.
60 Second Styles
- Start by taking a large section of hair (smaller section if your hair is thick) from the front/top of your head
- Separate that section evenly into 2
- Twist them together tightly until you reach the end
- Tie with a clear elastic band and don’t let go of the twist or it will unravel
- Using your finger as a place holder, spiral the twist around itself and tuck end under
- Secure with a bobby pin or 2. BTW I will never go back to regular Bobby Pins after using the Salon Care brand from Sally Beauty. They have such a great grip!
This style is great for second day hair because the Beach Head Tropical Texture Spray acts kind of like a dry shampoo, but with much more hold. I simply lift my hair at the roots and give a few spritzes all around. I also like to use this when I need to add volume and “grab” to my hair for braided hair-do’s . It really helps prevent may hair from slipping out of styles. Plus, this also smells amazing! Sensing a trend here? 😉
Even though I’m not a professional, Sally Beauty has been my go-to for hair products for many years. Since high school even! I love that you can find salon quality items that are easy on the wallet.
