This post was supposed to go up much earlier today, but I got a little sidetracked. My oldest daughter starts 1st grade next and we are all very excited, even though we are still trying to mentally prepare! In fact, she has picked out a color from this collection (Wyatt) as her first day mani color!
Earlier this week I posted my review of the Zoya Metallic Holos and they are all insanely gorgeous. However, if you aren’t a fan of shimmery polish, then you will want to stay tuned to see the new Zoya Urban Grunge One Coat Creams collection!
One coat creams. It’s something every nail polish lover dreams of, am I right?! So, in order to see if these polishes lived up to their name, I applied only one coat* of each color. All but 1 did great , and I’ll touch on that more below. All in all, the colors were insanely pigmented, smooth, and creamy. (*For my swatches, I applied a base coat, one coat of color, and a clear top coat.)
Zoya Urban Grunge One Coat Creams
- August is a medium gray with cool undertones
- Courtney is a deep bordeaux red
- Mallory is a vibrant cobalt blue. This color is amazing!
- Noah is a mid-range taupe with neutral undertones
- Wyatt is a luscious forest green
- Tara is a rich purple/plum shade. This is the only color that looked a bit patchy with one coat, so I did 2.
Let’s be honest. This collection didn’t “wow” me as much as the Metallic Holos, but it is a lovely cream collection. I am throughly impressed that 5 out of the 6 shades were indeed, 1-coat opaque coverage. I probably could have passed Tara off as acceptable with only 1 coat, but it looked much better with 2. My favorites here are Mallory (duh), August, and Tara.
Each polish retails for $10 and you can find them on the Zoya site, or in-store at Ulta Beauty!
