Lately, I feel like I have NO TIME. (Who’s with me??) Between house chores, activities with my kids, blogging, and my job, things are pretty busy around here! In the midst of getting ALL of those things done, I never like to skimp on my beauty routine. Especially if I’m going out in public. No, I’m not talking about making sure my winged liner is on point, because lets be serious… I don’t have THAT much time. I’m talking about simply being put together with a little fall pizzaz added in. Luckily, these new products from Jane Iredale’s fall launch are just what I need to kick my look up a notch.
First, I have the Smooth Affair for Eyes. These new shadows feature a cream-to-powder formula that can be worn as a primer or eye shadow. There are 6 total shades available, and I have 2 to share with you today. Iced Brown is a sheer, warm brown with golden flecks. Naked is a sheer champagne/nude. FYI, these shades are very sheer if worn on their own. I had to use a good base of primer to get the colors to show up and last me most of the day. To be fair, my lids are pretty oily so you might have better results if yours are on the dry side. Also, theses did tend to crease a bit, so don’t pack on too much color. Naked didn’t really show up on me, so I used it as a highlighter under my brows as well as my cheekbones! All in all, these are good if you like a soft “no makeup makeup” look. $32
Next, I have the newest Jane Iredale Puremoist Lipstick shade in Cindy, a classic cranberry red. This is my first time trying a Puremoist lipstick and I am very pleased! The color is gorgeous and the formula is so creamy. It has great opacity and I didn’t detect any strange flavors or scent. It also has a great shine to it and is comfortable to wear all day. I ended up getting about 4-5 hours of wear time. Because it is so creamy, I did have to use a lip liner for feathering, and do the “finger trick” to prevent any from getting on my teeth! Overall, I love this shade and would definitely buy more colors from this line! $25
5 Minute Makeup Look
After I got my foundation & blush on (took about 2 minutes) I applied an eye primer and patted the Iced Brown shade onto my lids.
Next, I used the Naked eyeshadow to highlight under my brows & on top of my cheekbone. It worked pretty well!
Finally, I applied a coat of the gorgeous Cindy lipstick. This is a beautiful shade of red and has a great sheen so it’s not too overpowering like a matte red.
Finished! I love that these 3 products can easily take my ordinary makeup look and give it some much needed fall flair!
