Saving money is hard, especially when you’re a beauty addict! haha. Seriously though, I’ve been trying really hard to be good this year and tighten the budget on my makeup & beauty purchases. I don’t need every new release that comes out, so I’ve been sticking to buying things that I know I will get good use out of. Because let’s face it, like most people, my family doesn’t have a disposable income.
I do have some some simple tips that will help you save a few bucks every week, so I’d love to share them with you. These aren’t any big “financial planning” tips. Just your basic, easy to follow through on ideas. You can start anytime!
This may sound like a no-brainer, but a lot of people I know don’t do this! Trust me, you’ll spend a lot more if you go shopping every night, or every few nights as opposed to once a week. Excel has some great pre-made spreadsheets for you to use. You can either print it out or e-mail it to yourself so you can view it on your phone.
Another super easy things to do to save a few bucks is having a set amount taken out of your pay check every week. Nothing crazy, just something like 10-20 bucks. If you put away $10 a week, you’ll have saved $520 by the end of the year without even thinking about it. You won’t even notice it’s gone! It works out great for helping with Holiday expenses.
I’m sure most of you are familiar with Groupon. They offer great deals on just about anything you could imagine. From massages, to dinners, to clothing, and the list goes on. There are usually stipulations with the deals, but as long as you read them ahead of time, there will be no surprises. Personally, I have never had any issues.
However, did you know that they also have a coupon section? It is filled with literally thousands of stores that you know and love. They not only offer deals to stores, but also for things like travel sites, and TV & internet deals. They also have a special section for student discounts! There have so many stores available, that I like to look through by typing in the name. Anytime, before I go out or shop online, I’ll look for the store and see if they have any good deals available. For example, today I went to Ulta to get my hair cut, and I printed a 20% off coupon to bring with me. (FYI, It is also good online.) I ended up saving $6 on my purchase! At first you might forget to use it, but it will become second nature in no time.
Here are a few of my other favorite stores to shop at. Take a look at the deals they are offering! I think you’ll be surprised at all of the stores listed.
What kinds of little things do YOU do to save money? I’d love some extra tips?
