Greetings beauty friends, I’m glad you stopped by! I have a bunch of hair care products to talk about today. Some of them are brand spanking new, and others are just new to me. Either way, they are all somewhere in the realm of “new”. 😉 I really wanted to get this post up a few days ago, but I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed and under the weather recently. Anyway, I’m feeling slightly better so lets dig right in shall we?
I’m going to start by talking about some of my favorites from the bunch! First up, is the Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer. This primer is designed to simplify your routine by providing 10 benefits in 1 magical potion. It detangles, nourishes, strengthens, softens, cuts drying time, adds shine, reduces frizz, and protects against thermal, environmental and uv damage. I really love this spray because it smells incredibly amazing, and the mist is very fine and almost has a dry oil feel to it. My thin hair doesn’t feel weighed down at all, and it feels so soft after blowdrying. $14 @ Ulta
Next, I have the Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Wonderful Pre-Wash Protein Treatment. This protein packed reconstructor is a rich cream that helps strengthen hair and nourish the scalp before you shampoo. I apply it to dampened hair in the shower and leave it on for 10-15 minutes while I do the rest of my routine. Then, I rinse it out and shampoo. I don’t even need conditioner when I use this, my hair is left so silky and nourished. It is recommended for use every other week, so this tube should last a while! (PS I am giving a full size tube of this away at the end of the post, so don’t miss it!) $32 @ Sephora
Kristin Ess is quite the woman. Not only is she a celebrity hair stylist, she is also co-founder of thebeautydepartment.com! Now, to add to all that, she has also launched the Kristin Ess Hair Care line at Target. She has curated an assortment of high quality, affordable products for cleansing, conditioning, reconstructing, and styling hair. All of the products feature the strengthening Zip-Up™ complex, which is comprised of kerabead microcapsules and conditioning ingredients like chia seeds, pea protein and marine algae. I received The One Shampoo & Conditioner, as well as the Strand Strengthening Reconstructive Mask. I’ve been using this system for the past month and I have really been enjoying it! The Shampoo lathers incredibly well despite it being sulfate free, and the Conditioner is easy to comb through and leaves my hair smooth after rinsing. Also, I use the Reconstructive Mask about once a week to help strengthen my thin hair. $10- $14 @ Target
Let’s take a break from hair care and move onto some styling tools for a minute. This Bed Head Spiral Curlipops Iron may not be new, but it is amazing and it’s my new HG curling iron! Typically, I have trouble curling my short hair, and even when it does curl, they usually don’t last very long. It’s still a bit difficult to curl my short hair with this (or maybe I’m just bad at doing hair) but my curls last SO long. I even have them when I wake up the next day, which is unheard of for me! Here is a pic of my curls, or you can watch my short YT video to see it in action! $29.99 @ Ulta
Next, I have this nifty little brush that will be your dry shampoo’s BFF. The Hotheads Mini G was specifically designed for bask brushing, which helps create volume and distribute the dry shampoo evenly. To use with your favorite dry shampoo, lift up hair at the roots using the Mini G and spray powder into the root area. Wait 1-2 minutes for the oil to absorb into the powder, then brush throughly. The natural boar bristles help dislodge the oil soaked powder, while also assign shine and smoothness to the surface of the hair. I also like using this for my regular hair brushing needs, and it’s a great size for keeping in my purse! $19.50 @ Hotheads
Now back to hair care! OGX recently sent me their new Coconut Miracle Oil line which has an ultra-nourishing and rejuvenating formula that targets damages hair. I haven’t used these on myself yet, but I’ve been using them on my daughters and their curly hair is looking great! First of all the scent is amazing and gives me a warm, relaxed feeling in the midst of hectic shower time. The formula’s are also great. The Shampoo lathers nicely and rinses clean, and the Conditioner has a great amount of slip and is very easy to comb through. I use a small dab of the Penetrating Oil on their wet hair, but you can also use it for a finishing oil on dry hair. $8.99 @ Ulta
Lastly, I have the Phyto Paris Phytologist line. I have only used these products a couple of times, but I am going to keep using them and provide a full separate review when I’m done. So, for right now I’ll just give you the overview of what this line is all about. The Phytologist products are designed to create stronger and thicker hair. This is something that my fine, thin hair desperately needs! The Shampoo is actually more of an oil but it lathers up surprisingly well. The guarana extract stimulates and energizes the scalp and protects the hair fiber to rebuild body and strength. It is designed to be used 2 – 3 x a week in conjunction with the Phytologist Botanical Scalp and Hair Concentrate. Like I said, I am going to go into more detail in my upcoming review, but so far I really like it. $29 – $95 @ Ulta
Whew, that was a lot to go over! As of now, I would have to say that my favorite products here are the Eva NYC Primer, the Madam CJ Walker Treatment, the Bed Head Curling Iron, and the OGX Coconut Oil line for my kids. Have you tried any of the products that I’ve talked about here? If so, what are your thoughts on them?
Also, I received 2 of the Madam CJ Walker Protein Treatments, so I am going to be giving the other one away to 1 lucky winner!
