This is my first Fenty Beauty by Rihanna purchase and I must say that I’m pleasantly surprised. What first drew me into buying these lipsticks was the packaging (duh) then, the online swatches finally sold me. Incase you are wondering (and like me, didn’t know until I looked it up), the brand is called “Fenty Beauty” because Rihanna’s full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Makes so much more sense now, right?
The Starlit Hyper Glitz Lipsticks come in a stunning holographic (albeit plastic) tube with shifty shades of purple, blue, and green. I didn’t really pay much attention to the size when I bought them online, so I was a little surprised how small they were when I received them. The lipsticks are $19 each for .045 oz, which is about the size of most free/sample size lipsticks at Sephora. (For reference, the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks are .11oz, which is more than double the size, for $17.) Also, the plastic package feels a bit cheap and I have to be careful not to turn the lipsticks up to much because it feels like they could easily break. Nevertheless, these lipsticks are gorgeous, I will give them that.

I chose the colors Sci-Fly and Gravity, but there are also 2 other shades available in the line. Both lipsticks are semi-sheer, but can be built up for more opacity. In my lip swatches I swiped them about 10-15 times each to get the opacity shown. I swiped them fewer times in my arm swatch photos so you can see the sheerness. These lipsticks have no detectable scent or flavor and they last about 5 hours on me.
- Sci-Fly is a glimmering garnet with flecks of silver and fuchsia shimmer.
- Gravity is a shimmering hot pink with pink and silver shimmer.
Overall, these lipsticks are very pretty but they are rather pricy considering the size. Fenty Beauty claims to be cruelty free, but fellow blogger Jen from My Beauty Bunny has not received specific confirmation from the brand, despite her many attempts to clarify their CF status. So, take that as you will I guess. If I had to recommend only one of these lipsticks to splurge on, I would choose Sci-fly hands down. It’s just so stunning and multi-dimensional. I find myself wearing it very often!
